Originally covering only the Script Supervisor craft, Local 871's charter began in 1958 with 131 members. The Teleprompters joined our ranks in 1988, as our membership truly started its growth. Our biggest change came in 2000 when Local 717, at the time unrecognized by the IA Basic Agreement, merged with Local 871, bringing Production Accountants, Assistant Production Accountants, Production Coordinators, Assistant Production Coordinators, and Art Department Coordinators into our jurisdiction. In 2002 we took in Stage Managers, as well as Font and Graphics Coordinators within the sports venues. With a new name in 2007 and a current membership of nearly 1700, we are now known as "IA Local 871, Script Supervisors/Continuity, Coordinators, Accountants and Allied Production Specialists Guild."

The professional experiences of every member of our diverse crafts tell the story of who we are. Our members fulfill an important role in the creation of each film, television program, commercial, stage or sports event on which they work.
